Thymosin alpha-1

The burned-in captions and transcript carry the scientific claims and their limitations. The visuals are conceptual illustrations, not validated molecular models or experimental images. The video has no voice or audio. The full explanation is visible on screen; optional accessible captions are available in the player.

Read every result in its study context. A cell experiment, animal model, exploratory analysis and controlled human trial answer different questions.

Thymosin alpha-1 | Patient outcomes matter

Thymosin alpha-1 is studied for effects on immune function. Whether an immune signal changes is a different question from whether patients survive serious illness. [1]

PHASE 3 HUMAN TRIAL | Sepsis

The TESTS trial enrolled more than eleven hundred adults with sepsis across Chinese centres. Participants received thymosin alpha-1 or placebo alongside standard care. [1]

No demonstrated 28-day mortality reduction

The analysis did not demonstrate a reduction in deaths within twenty-eight days. A published correction updated some calculations without turning this into a positive mortality finding. [1] [2]

Keep conclusions tied to the setting

That result applies to this trial and setting. It neither proves all possible uses ineffective nor establishes a general immune-boosting benefit in healthy people. [1] [2]
