A convincing website can solve a marketing problem without solving a scientific one. Product photographs, customer reviews and a downloadable certificate do not establish what is in a vial, whether it is appropriate for a particular experiment or whether it is an authorized medicine.

Identify what is actually being offered

A pharmacy dispensing prescription medicine and a supplier selling laboratory reagents serve different purposes. FDA's BeSafeRx guidance recommends checking state pharmacy licensure when purchasing prescription medicines online. A research-use label is not a substitute for that verification. For legitimate laboratory procurement, begin with the legal business identity, an accessible quality contact and an unambiguous product specification. Record the chemical identity, batch number and intended research application. A supplier that changes the molecule's name between its product page and test report has not provided a coherent evidence trail.

Examine the certificate rather than the badge

A useful certificate links a defined sample to a test method, result, date and laboratory. Ask what was measured and what was not. A chromatographic purity figure is not a measurement of every possible contaminant. FDA's Q7 quality framework separates material identity, specifications, supplier qualification and other controls rather than reducing quality to a single percentage. Its pharmaceutical scope should not be mistaken for certification of a research vendor. FDA Q7 guidance for active pharmaceutical ingredient quality

The FTC also cautions that health claims require appropriate scientific support. Testimonials cannot turn an unsupported treatment promise into a substantiated one. FTC Health Products Compliance Guidance

Pressure to buy before asking these questions is a reason to pause. So is a request to ignore the stated research-only purpose and follow informal human-use instructions. Preserve the offer and supporting documents if a discrepancy needs investigation. No checklist can guarantee authenticity, but a clear record of identity, provenance, testing and permitted use is more informative than popularity.
